Our mission is to develop Christian disciples who glorify God.
Vision Statement
Our shared Vision of Welsey by 2015. "Where should Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church be in 2015?" This was the question a Vision Team wrestled with for several months. Through a great deal of discussion, prayer and discernment, a vision statement was developed including specific areas in which we believe the church is poised and most wants to grow.
We are called to be God's people. As a community of faith we reflect our relationship wiht God in Jesus Christ. One of the best ways we can be God's people is to cast and seek to fulfill a vision. Proverbs 29:18 declares, "Where there is no vision, the people perish..." By forming, embracing and then fulfilling a vision for Wesley, we are seeking to be the people of God.
The Five Pillars of Our Vision
An irresistible Children's Ministry, with program aimed toward developing disciples and meeting the needs of families and that is appropriately staffed for continued growth.
A focus on Missions/Outreach that allows Wesley to become a force in our community, assessing needs and positively impacting our neighbors in order to serve God on a local, national and global level with a well-developed and organized group of servants.
Effective use of Technology to promote worship, enhance congregational life and improve communication within our congregation and the community.
Financial Health while aggressively working to eliminate debt;
Use our resources wisely;
Have each of our members striving toward a tithe;
and Fund ministry line items appropriately
Spiritual Growth within the congregation, with opportunities for prayer, study, worship, service, fellowship and sacraments. To insure appropriate offerings, the church should continually assess the congregation's individual and collective needs, develop and provide programs and classes, communicate what is offered and encourage opportunities for growth.
